Lincoln Fire & Rescue battles garage fire at Capitol Beach home

LINCOLN, Neb. (KLKN) – Lincoln Fire & Rescue battled a garage fire Saturday at a home in the Capitol Beach neighborhood.
Just after 11:15 a.m., several units were called to a single-family home near Northwest Eighth and West S streets.
According to LFR Captain Andy Evans, someone was cleaning up gas in the driveway when the garage caught fire.
Crews were able to get water on the fire quickly, containing the blaze to the detached garage, Evans said.
Evans said that nobody was transported to the hospital.
Officials don’t know an estimate in damage, but Evans said the garage is a total loss.
The exact cause of the fire is still under investigation.
