LINCOLN, Neb. (KLKN) – Lincoln Fire & Rescue is urging people to download the PulsePoint app during National Sudden Cardiac Arrest Awareness Month.

PulsePoint provides a heads-up to house fires, car crashes and more.  It also alerts users to nearby cardiac arrests.

LFR spokeswoman MJ Lierman said people can help by giving CPR before emergency responders arrive.

The app also points people to the nearest AED device, while also providing instructions on how to use it.

Lincoln has utilized the service since 2018.
