Lincoln Goodwill hosts Halloween costume contest at Gateway Mall event

LINCOLN, Neb. (KLKN) – The Gateway Mall had a perfect event for those wanting to stay warm on a cold Halloween evening.
The mall held the annual Candy Crawl event on Tuesday throughout the building.
It was packed with kids and families trick-or-treating.
Numerous stores participated and gave out candy to the dressed-up little ones.
Lincoln Goodwill, one of the hosts, sponsored a costume fashion contest.
“Having a costume contest is very important because at Goodwill, we love being able to offer creative options for people who want to put Halloween costumes together for a little bit of lower costs,” spokeswoman Alana Sesow said.
She said she loves seeing people make something that may not be found at big box stores.
One of those costumes was Maverick from “Top Gun,” which included the fighter jet. It won first place in the DIY category.
The winners of the different categories received gift cards to Goodwill and different stores at the mall.
