Lincoln High alums team up with the Lincoln Food Bank to raise money

Former students from Lincoln High gathered Thursday night at The Mill on Innovation campus to give back to the city.

Teaming up with the Lincoln Food Bank, former Links gather to help the Food Market at Lincoln High School.

“It’s something we call the food market. And that is were students at Lincoln High can come through once a month and get free food,” Sue Dutton said. “We started that in 2011.”

Dutton graduated as a Link in 1971 and served as a social worker at the school for 23 years. She helped gather alums for Thursdays event in partner with the Lincoln Food Bank, with hopes of raising money and collecting food donations.

Lincoln High School has around 2,300 students and nearly 1,300 are on the free and reduced lunch program.

Dutton hopes efforts like tonight help students wherever possible.
