Lincoln house fire causes portion of 10th Street to close

Two dogs were found dead inside of the house when Lincoln Fire and Rescue crews arrived at the house fire.

LINCOLN, Neb. (KLKN) – UPDATE: The cause of the fire was an overloaded kitchen outlet, according to LFR.

The investigator says there were too many appliances connected to the outlet, which overloaded it.

The estimated damages to the house are $160,000, LFR says.

LINCOLN, Neb. (KLKN) – UPDATE: Two dogs were found dead inside when Lincoln Fire and Rescue crews arrived at the house fire.

Another dog was successfully resuscitated and sent to a local animal hospital.

LFR Battalion Chief Jim Bopp tells Channel 8 that 10th Street will be shut down for another hour or so.

When LFR crews arrived around 4:34 p.m., there was active fire and smoke coming from the house.  Nobody was home at the time of the fire.  A family of four has been displaced due to the fire, according to Bopp.

No injuries were reported and the cause of the fire is still unknown.  A fire investigator is currently at the scene.

LINCOLN, Neb. (KLKN) – A house fire is causing a portion of 10th Street to be closed as Lincoln Fire and Rescue crews fight the blaze.

All northbound traffic on 10th Street is currently closed from A to B Streets.  Traffic on A Street is shut down from 9th to 11th Streets.

The cause of the fire is currently unknown.
