Lincoln Hy-Vee employee surprised with customer service award

Eddie Bucknor was one of the 2021 Hy-Vee Legendary Customer Service Award recipients

Lincoln, NEB (KLKN) – Hy-Vee employee, Eddie Bucknor, was awarded the Legendary Customer Service Award this Tuesday at the Williamsburg Hy-Vee.

The award ceremony was a complete surprise for Bucknor who was in disbelief.

Bucknor was greeted by family members and coworkers who applauded him for his accomplishment when he walked in.

Bucknor was joined by his wife, brother, daughter, and his mom who joined in via Skype from Bucknor’s hometown of New York. Multiple employees and managers from other stores were in attendance for the presentation.

Eddie received gifts from his store manager, Phil Savidge, who gifted a $5,000 travel certificate, a gold nametag, a special parking spot and a helicopter ride around Lincoln.

The Customer Service Award program began in 2006, and since then there have been 139 employees that have been honored with this award. Ten other employees were awarded this year along with Bucknor.
