Lincoln Littles partners with Lincoln Literacy to boost child care workforce

LINCOLN, Neb. (KLKN) — Lincoln Littles and Lincoln Literacy are creatively solving the early childhood education shortage.
They’ve started an internship program together to teach people English and employ them in early childhood education roles.
“It matches up people who are interested in education in early childhood, and it helps build the bridge in overcoming that language barrier” said Lincoln Littles workforce manager Julie Jones-Branch.
This is a win-win for both groups, as Nebraska has seen a big need for workers in early childhood education for some time now.
“Rather than seeing language as a barrier we use different technology and live interpreters that can help bridge that gap,” Jones-Branch said.
Paid internships will be starting soon, and the program is looking for more applicants, who can apply here.
