Lincoln Lutheran head volleyball coach Sue Ziegler announces retirement

LINCOLN, Neb. (KLKN) — Lincoln Lutheran head volleyball coach Sue Ziegler announced her retirement on Monday.
Ziegler led the Warriors to six state championships (2004, 2019, 2021, 2022, 2023 and 2024) in 15 state tournament appearances.
Throughout her 28-year career at Lincoln Lutheran, Ziegler amassed over 600 career wins and was inducted into the Nebraska High School Hall of Fame in 2020.
In 2021, she was named the AVCA National High School Volleyball Coach of the Year.
“We thank Coach Ziegler for her leadership of the volleyball program and wish her well in retirement,” activities director Dan Masters said in a press release. “Coach Ziegler built a volleyball program centered on Christian leadership. The Lincoln Lutheran volleyball program attained a high level of excellence during her tenure. Her leadership brought the program to a level of notoriety in Nebraska and across the country. We are grateful for the high standard of excellence that Coach Ziegler, her coaching staff, and current and past players have set.”
According to Masters, a search for a new head volleyball coach will begin immediately.
