LINCOLN, Neb. (KLKN) — A Lincoln man is accused of fondling a 12-year-old girl, then assaulting a woman who caught him.

Hugo Zepeda, 40, was arrested Wednesday and charged with third-degree sexual assault of a child, assaulting a pregnant woman and terroristic threats.

About 3 a.m., police responded to a home in the North Bottoms neighborhood.

Earlier that morning, Zepeda lay on a bed next to the 12-year-old and started touching her inappropriately, according to court documents.

A 23-year-old pregnant woman and her boyfriend then came into the room saw Zepeda on top of the girl, an arrest affidavit says.

They pulled him away from the girl, police said, and Zepeda hit the pregnant woman.

When officers interviewed Zepeda, he was “visibly intoxicated,” according to the affidavit.

On Friday, a judge set his bond at $750,000. He must pay $75,000 to be released from jail.

Zepeda is due back in court Jan. 28.
