LINCOLN, Neb. (KLKN) – Police have made an arrest in the theft of an officer’s body camera after a weekend brawl in downtown Lincoln.

Syncere Lewis, 23, was found at his home and arrested on suspicion of felony theft, police said in an update Wednesday.

Lewis stole the officer’s body-worn camera, which was knocked from their vest while responding to a large fight near Eighth and N streets on Saturday.

The camera was later found in a nearby trash compactor.

A sidearm magazine was also stolen from the officer’s vest, but it has not been recovered.
