LINCOLN, Neb. (KLKN) – A man was arrested Thursday after officers found him attempting to steal money from washing machines at an apartment complex, Lincoln Police say.

Around 2:45 a.m., officers went to an apartment complex near 23rd and S Street on a report of strange noises coming from the laundry room.

When they arrived, they found 31-year-old Lee Bryant inside with multiple hand tools.

He also had a pry bar in a backpack and loose change in his pocket.

Three of the washing machines were damaged and had their panels removed, Lincoln Police say.

The washing machines had around $450 worth of damages.

Officers arrested Bryant on suspicion of possessing burglar tools.  He was also cited on suspicion of unlawful taking and criminal mischief.
