Lincoln man arrested after posting gun pictures online

Authorities arrested a man they say posted photos of himself with guns on social media – the only problem was, he wasn’t allowed to have them. 

Lincoln Police say the LPD Gang Unit served a search warrant just before midnight at 1016 F Street, after investigators received information that Levi Heilig, 22, was posting photos of himself with multiple guns at a gun range online. 

Police say Heilig is prohibited from possessing a firearm due to a domestic assault conviction in 2017. 

Authorities say Heilig continued to post photos of himself with guns at his home. Investigators found a 12 gauge shotgun, .223 AR rifle, .40 handgun and ammunition, police say. 

Heilig was arrested for possession of a firearm by a prohibited person.
