Lincoln man arrested for meth possession at traffic stop

Lincoln police say a man was arrested at a traffic stop Thursday morning for possession of a controlled substance with the intent to deliver.

It happened on June 13th at around 2 am.

LPD officers stopped a vehicle near North 56th Street and Holdrege Street.

The reason for the stop was failing to signal within 100 feet of a turn. Officers contacted the driver and obtained consent to search the vehicle.

Officers located a digital scale with residue that pre-tested positive for methamphetamine and multiple baggies in the vehicle.

Officers also located $265 in cash and 13.8 grams of a substance that pre-tested positive for methamphetamine on the driver,

The man was identified as Shawn E. Hammeren (49-year-old male).

Officers cited and lodged Hammeren for Possession with Intent to Deliver a Controlled Substance (F),

Possession of Money while Violating Controlled Substance Statute (F), and Failing to Signal before 100 feet of a Turn (I).
