Lincoln man arrested for resisting arrest after vandalizing home in attempted break-in

Lincoln Police arrested 31-year-old Robert Hillard for resisting arrest after the victim of an attempted home invasion identified Hillard as the suspect.
Police said they were near 21st and J street after a man reported his home and vehicle were vandalized and someone tried to break into his home. While they were there, Hillard walked by and the victim said he was the suspect.
When police tried to contact him they said he refused to stop and show officers his hands. He continued resisting and they used pepper spray but it had no affect on Hillard.
With the help of more officers, Hillard was taken into custody.
He was arrested for criminal mischief, obstructing a peace officer and resisting arrest, his second offense.
