Lincoln man attempts to flee in stolen vehicle, hits cop car

LINCOLN, Neb. (KLKN) – Lincoln Police arrested a man after he ran into a cop car while trying to escape officers in a stolen vehicle.

On Feb. 5, the owner of a 2009 Lexus SUV reported their car stolen after letting it warm up outside in the 3700 block of N. 14th Street.

On Feb. 8, officers observed the Lexus at the Kwik Shop at 33rd and Holdredge.

The driver of the vehicle, 23-year-old Ian Eastman, noticed the officers and made an attempt to flee.

Eastman backed up and immediately hit a cop car, causing minor damage to both of the vehicles.

After the collision, officers took Eastman into custody without further incident. During a search, officers located methamphetamine in Eastman’s possession.
