Lincoln man caught with hundreds of child porn files gets prison time

LINCOLN, Neb. (KLKN) — A Lincoln man was sentenced to federal prison Tuesday on a child porn charge.
Andre Schwindt, 43, will spend five years behind bars for receipt of child pornography.
U.S. District Judge Joseph Bataillon also ordered him to pay $15,000 in restitution.
In April 2022, the National Center for Missing & Exploited Children received a tip that a Dropbox user had uploaded three child porn files.
Investigators traced the IP address to Schwindt, the U.S. Attorney’s Office said.
Law enforcement interviewed him in July 2023, and authorities said he admitted to searching for and viewing child pornography.
A search of his cellphone revealed 534 images and nine videos of child pornography.
Most of them depicted boys under the age of 12, according to the U.S. Attorney’s Office.
After prison, Schwindt will serve a five-year term of supervised release. There is no parole in the federal system.
