Lincoln man caught with meth in fanny pack gets 15 years in prison

LINCOLN, Neb. (KLKN) — A 35-year-old Lincoln man was sentenced in federal court Wednesday on a meth charge.
Tony Torres Perez got 15 years and eight months for possession with intent to distribute 5 grams or more of methamphetamine.
Torres Perez was pulled over in Hastings in May 2022 for reckless driving on a motorcycle, according to the U.S. Attorney’s Office.
The officer saw that he was trying to hide a fanny pack.
Police found meth, marijuana, a scale and drug paraphernalia in the fanny pack.
After prison, Torres Perez will spend eight years on supervised release. There is no parole in the federal system.
