Lincoln man dies after being ejected from vehicle in rural Fillmore County crash

LINCOLN, Neb. (KLKN) – A Lincoln man died early Sunday morning after a crash in rural Fillmore County, the sheriff’s office says.
The crash happened just after midnight on Highway 41 near County Road 19, southeast of Geneva.
The sheriff’s office said a Chevy Monte Carlo, driven by 68-year-old John Hansen of Lincoln, was heading east on Highway 41 at a “high rate of speed.”
The vehicle then left the road, collided with a ditch and rolled in the field, causing Hansen to be ejected, according to the sheriff’s office.
Investigators are unsure if Hansen was wearing a seat belt.
Hansen was taken to a hospital, where he was later pronounced dead.
An investigation is ongoing.
