LINCOLN, Neb. (KLKN) – A Lincoln man was ticketed Wednesday after he accidentally fired a gun into his neighbor’s home, police say.

Around 6:30 p.m., a man at a home near Southwest 29th and West Sumner streets heard a “loud noise,” according to police.

He then discovered a hole in his kitchen wall and cabinet, plus a bullet, police said.

An officer spoke with the 34-year-old neighbor who said he dropped his .45 caliber handgun, causing it to fire.

Police estimate the bullet caused $200 in damage.
