LINCOLN, Neb. (KLKN) – A Lincoln man will spend two decades behind bars after he sold fentanyl-laced cocaine that led to an overdose, the U.S. Attorney’s Office says.

Dylan Roberts, 31, was sentenced Wednesday to 20 years in prison for distributing cocaine and fentanyl resulting in serious bodily injury.

On Aug. 18, 2021, Roberts sold cocaine to a man at a Lincoln home, the attorney’s office says.

The man then used the cocaine in his vehicle and, shortly after, lost consciousness.

When first responders arrived, they found the man lying on the ground, according to the attorney’s office.

He was then taken to a hospital, where he was given Narcan.  The attorney’s office said he ultimately survived.

After the substance was tested, authorities found that it contained fentanyl and cocaine.

After his prison sentence, Roberts will serve a four-year term of supervised release.  There is no parole in the federal system.
