In September 2022, the Lincoln Police Department received a report that Maati was sexually abusing a minor.
Around that time, LPD determined that Maati was the subject of a recent tip made to the FBI.
LPD searched his home and took his cellphone.
Law enforcement found multiple child porn videos of one victim and one video of a second victim.
Maati uploaded these videos to a cloud service where his friend, who is a registered sex offender, could see them.
Maati was previously convicted in 1997 for attempted sexual assault of a child.
He was also convicted in 1999 for sexual assault of a child and second-degree sexual assault.
