LINCOLN, Neb. (KLKN) – A Lincoln man will spend several years behind bars for sexually assaulting a girl at a sleepover.

Nathen Mcthenia, 39, was sentenced Monday to 28 to 38 years in prison for third-degree sexual assault of a child and felony child abuse, court records say.

His sentence will be cut in half automatically because of Nebraska’s good time law.

On March 20, the mother of a 10-year-old girl reported the sexual assault to the Lincoln Police Department.

The girl was at Mcthenia’s house for a sleepover with a friend.

She was awakened when Mcthenia “inappropriately” touched her, an arrest affidavit alleges.

He also took photos of her and another child, according to the affidavit.

Police arrested Mcthenia on April 4.
