Lincoln man injured after firework goes off in hand

According to Lincoln Police, around 8:30 p.m. Tuesday night, a 35 year old man was lighting off fireworks near West Adams and NW 53rd St, near Airpark. when one of them went off in his hand.
He was taken to the hospital with extensive injuries and required surgery.
Lincoln Police say it will be a long recovery.
LPD and Lincoln Fire & Rescue are investigating this incident, and do not know yet what type of firework it was.
