Lincoln man out on bail in meth case fled from Omaha Police, court docs say

LINCOLN, Neb. (KLKN) — A Lincoln man accused of possessing methamphetamine is in even more trouble now, court documents say.
On Wednesday, 46-year-old Jason Small failed to appear in Lancaster County Court on a charge of possession of a controlled substance.
That’s because he was in jail in Iowa.

On Monday, an Omaha Police officer pulled over Small for an expired registration, an arrest affidavit says.
But police said Small sped off, cutting across three lanes of travel to get away.
He kept going east into Iowa, according to the affidavit, where he was stopped by the Council Bluffs Police Department.
Small was arrested on suspicion of reckless driving and placed in the Pottawattamie County Jail.
He has been charged in Douglas County with operating a motor vehicle to avoid arrest.
Court records say he was convicted of the same crime in 2006.
Authorities are now trying to extradite him to Nebraska.
Small’s drug case dates back to December, when he and his roommate were arrested.
Police searched their home near Southwest Eighth and West A streets and found 41 grams of meth and 4 grams of psilocybin mushrooms, according to an affidavit.
Small’s roommate, 32-year-old Christopher Simpson, is accused of selling meth. He faces six felonies and is due back in court March 25.
Police said Small was just using drugs.
On Dec. 26, Small paid $350 to be released from jail.
