Lincoln man pleads not guilty to possession of meth, sawed-off shotgun

LINCOLN, Neb. (KLKN) — A Lincoln man pleaded not guilty Tuesday to felony drug, weapon and theft charges.
Zachary Douglas, 28, waived his right to a preliminary hearing, and Judge Thomas Zimmerman sent his case to district court.
On July 5, a state trooper saw a car near 16th and Knox streets that he had chased the night before. The car, a Chevy Impala, had been reported stolen in Milford.
No one was in the car, but a sawed-off double-barrel shotgun was on driver’s seat, according to court documents.

Douglas then ran out of a nearby apartment, an arrest affidavit says.
Troopers chased him down and took him into custody.
They found about 31 grams of methamphetamine in his pockets, according to the affidavit.
Authorities said Douglas also had seven alprazolam pills, a drug typically used to treat anxiety, and drug paraphernalia.
His charges include possession of meth, possession of a short shotgun and theft by receiving stolen property.
Douglas is set to be arraigned in Lancaster County District Court on Sept. 25.
