LINCOLN, Neb. (KLKN) – A Lincoln man was sentenced Tuesday on a meth charge, acting U.S. Attorney Susan Lehr announced in a press release.

Cory Robert Starks was sentenced in federal court for conspiracy to distribute and possess with intent to distribute 500 grams or more of methamphetamine mixture.

The judge sentenced Starks to just over 10 years in prison.

Starks told investigators he had been selling meth for about a year to about 10 customers.

He also told investigators he usually obtained 1 ounce of meth per week for resale, according to the release.

His arrest was made after law enforcement heard that Starks was involved in the distribution of at least 5 kilograms, or 11 pounds, of meth in the Lincoln area between June 2020 and September 2021.

Starks sold about 1/16 ounce of meth to an informant with the Lincoln/Lancaster County Task Force in August 2021.

Officials executed a search warrant on Sept. 2, 2021, after the sale and found a tin containing meth residue. Investigators also found a safe containing a loaded handgun.

There is no parole in the federal system, and Starks will begin a five-year supervised release at the end of his sentence.
