Lincoln man sentenced for supplying fentanyl that caused fatal overdose

LINCOLN, Neb. (KLKN) — A Lincoln man will spend almost two decades in federal prison for distribution of fentanyl.

Arnaldo Rodriguez Santini, 37, was sentenced Friday to 18 years behind bars.

The case began in June 2022, when a man died after a fentanyl overdose at a Lincoln halfway house, according to the U.S. Attorney’s Office.

Investigators looked through his text messages and determined that Rodriguez Santini and his wife, Regina Rodriguez, provided the fentanyl.

Rodriguez Santini admitted to supplying the man with five fentanyl pills the day before he died.

After prison, he will serve four years on supervised release. There is no parole in the federal system.

His wife was sentenced in September 2023 to 20 years in prison.
