LINCOLN, Neb. (KLKN) – A Lincoln man was sentenced Tuesday to 38 to 40 years in prison for sexually abusing a teenage girl for three years.

Court records indicate a teenager reported being sexually abused by Daniel Stalder, 32, to Lincoln Police on July 14, 2020.

According to court documents, Stalder initiated sexual intercourse over 100 times beginning when the victim was 14-years-old.

The victim told police that intercourse took place multiple times a week when she was between the ages of 14 and 16-years-old.  She told police during that time she became pregnant with his child; he gave her a pill requesting she terminate the pregnancy.  The pill caused an allergic reaction which sent the victim to the hospital where she learned she had miscarried.

The victim told police she waited to report the abuse because “she knew her sexual relationship with Stalder was wrong and she was never ‘for it.'”  Court records note Stalder often made the victim feel guilty if she did not have intercourse with him; he also gifted her an iPhone and vehicle.

A police investigation included multiple recorded phone calls the girl made to Stalder over a month’s time.  During the calls, Stalder never disagreed or denied the relationship but stated he was sorry for what she was put through.

Stalder pleaded no contest to two counts of attempted first-degree sexual assault of a minor and was sentenced to 38 to 40 years in prison.
