Lincoln man sexually assaulted 15-year-old at least 10 times, police say

LINCOLN, Neb. (KLKN) — A Lincoln man was charged Wednesday in the rape of a 15-year-old girl.
Carlos Escobar, 20, is facing a charge of first-degree sexual assault.
At his first court hearing, a judge set his bond at $500,000. He would need to pay 10% of that to be released from jail.
Court documents say Escobar and the victim started dating in August after meeting on Snapchat.
Because of their ages, any sexual contact would have been illegal.
But police said over their six-month relationship, Escobar had sex with the victim at least 10 times, often in his car.
The girl described one assault to police in which she resisted, but Escobar overpowered her.
Escobar is set to be back in court on Aug. 13.
