Lincoln man shot himself in hand after having bad dream, police say

LINCOLN, Neb. (KLKN) – A Lincoln man was ticketed Wednesday after shooting himself in the hand, police say.

Around 5 a.m., a 68-year-old man awoke from a bad dream and thought someone was breaking into his home near 58th and J streets.

He pulled out a gun and accidentally shot himself in the hand, police said.

The man was taken to a hospital with non-life-threatening injuries.

He was later cited on suspicion of discharging a firearm within city limits.
