Lincoln man sold parts from four stolen Dodge Challengers, police say

LINCOLN, Neb. (KLKN) — A 20-year-old Lincoln man is accused of running a chop shop out of his backyard.

Bahram Majeed was charged Monday with six felonies: four counts of theft by receiving stolen property and two counts of evidence tampering.

Court documents say Majeed drove at least four stolen Dodge Challengers from the Kansas City area, then dismantled them and sold the parts.

Earlier this month, the Lincoln Police Department started surveilling Majeed and his home near Whitter and Potter streets in the Clinton neighborhood.

Investigators said they saw him with two stolen Challengers, so they had the vehicles towed.

Police looked for the vehicle identification numbers, but they had been removed, according to an arrest affidavit.

On Friday night, police carried out a search warrant at his home, where the affidavit says they found a “large amount” of vehicle parks inside and in the backyard.

Several of the items came from stolen vehicles, investigators said.

The search also yielded $3,000 that was locked in a safe. Police think it was part of Majeed’s ill-gotten gains.

He made about $6,000 to $6,500 by selling parts from one of the vehicles, according to the affidavit.

Majeed is scheduled to be back in court July 21.
