Lincoln man suffers life-threatening injuries in golf cart crash, police say
LINCOLN, Neb. (KLKN) – A 56-year-old man was injured Saturday night when police say he drunkenly crashed a golf cart in the front yard of his home.
Just after 9 p.m., the man drove a golf cart up his driveway in the Wilderness Ridge neighborhood before veering off into his front lawn.
According to police, the man was seen on the home’s security cameras circling back onto the street and then back into his lawn on the other side of the driveway.
The golf cart hit a rock on the edge of the driveway, causing the driver to fall out.
According to the police report, the golf cart may have run over the man when he fell out. He was the only one in the golf cart.
Investigators said they determined that the driver was likely drunk at the time of the crash.
The man was taken to the hospital with life-threatening injuries.
According to the report, the man has not been ticketed.
