Lincoln man suing Nebraska, City of Lincoln over coronavirus ‘nonsense’
LINCOLN, Neb. (KLKN) — According to court documents, one Nebraska man is taking on state officials for their response to the coronavirus, saying “there is no health emergency”.
Richard Hill, a 64-year-old Lincoln man, filed for an Emergency Injunction, on behalf of “The People of Nebraska”, in the Lancaster County District Court on Thursday “to stop all nonsense currently being perpetrated by the governments and organizations in the state of Nebraska”. Hill is looking to take on the State of Nebraska, Governor Pete Ricketts, the City of Lincoln, Mayor Leirion Gaylor Baird, the City of Omaha, Mayor Jean Stothert, Lincoln Public Schools (LPS), and Omaha Public Schools (OPS).
Hill claims the government overstepped and violated the right of the American people to “pursue life, liberty and happiness”. He states officials caused “fear needlessly,” citing the number of deaths in the nation due to coronavirus between the months of February and July, 103,339, is only about nine percent of general death rate, 1,160,656.
Referencing Lincoln directly, on Wednesday, Aug. 19th, Hill said the city only had three people hospitalized due to the coronavirus. “Is the government really shutting down schools, businesses, football seasons, National conventions for what?”
Hill ends saying, “Hysteria runs the world but not this court”.
