LINCOLN, Neb. (KLKN) – A Lincoln man will now serve 20 years behind bars for selling drugs that caused two overdoses, the United States Attorney’s Office said.

Adante Mower, 38, was sentenced Friday for distributing cocaine and fentanyl resulting in serious bodily injury.

On Aug. 4, 2021, Mower sold suspected cocaine to two people in a store’s parking lot in Lincoln.

The buyers then went to Nebraska City and took the drugs.  Shortly after, both of them became unresponsive, according to the Attorney’s Office.

Emergency crews arrived, administered Narcan and took the people to a local hospital.

Authorities seized the drugs at the scene of the overdose, the Attorney’s Office said.

A lab later determined that they were cocaine and fentanyl.

After Mower’s prison sentence, he will be placed on supervised release for three years.  There is no parole in the federal system.
