LINCOLN, Neb. (KLKN) – A Lincoln man will spend nearly two decades behind bars on two child pornography charges, the U.S. Attorney’s Office says.

Richard Tripp, 71, was sentenced Thursday to 19 years and seven months in federal prison for possessing and distributing child pornography.

A jury found Tripp guilty on both counts on Aug. 11.

The attorney’s office said a website reported that 38 suspected child porn images had been uploaded to the internet from Tripp’s home in Lincoln.

Tripp was living at the home with two registered sex offenders, according to the attorney’s office.

In a search of the home, investigators found over 1,400 child porn images on electronic devices. Some of the images were of toddlers and infants.

After his release from prison, Tripp will serve a 13-year term of supervised release.  There is no parole in the federal system.

In 2007, Tripp was convicted of two counts of first-degree sexual assault of a child.
