Lincoln man who tried flushing meth down toilet gets 15 years in prison

LINCOLN, Neb. (KLKN) – A Lincoln man will spend over a decade in prison for selling meth, the U.S. Attorney’s Office says.

Scott Lawrence, 42, was sentenced Tuesday to 15 years in prison for possessing with intent to distribute meth.

On March 18, 2022, members of the Lincoln-Lancaster County Narcotics Task Force served a search warrant at Lawrence’s home.

The attorney’s office said Lawrence was in the bathroom trying to flush meth down a toilet and shower drain.

Authorities later found 135 grams of meth in the bathroom.

Another 434 grams of meth and $17,622, which Lawrence said was proceeds from selling drugs, were found in a bedroom, according to the attorney’s office.

After serving his prison sentence, Lawrence will spend 10 years on supervised release.  There is no parole in the federal system.
