LINCOLN, Neb. (KLKN) — A man was robbed of more than $300 near downtown Lincoln on Friday.

Just after 3:30 p.m., officers with the Lincoln Police Department were sent to the bus stop on 13th Street between E and F streets.

According to LPD, officers were told a man with an axe-like object had swung it at another man, who fell on the ground while trying to run away.

When he came back, the victim told officers he saw the suspect take another man’s belongings and chased him with the axe-like object.

The total estimated loss was more than $300, according to LPD.

Based on a physical description given and previous disturbances, officers identified the suspect as 54-year-old Sharife Davis.

He was found at a nearby apartment building where he was taken into custody and some of the stolen items were found.

A metal paint scraper/chisel tool was found at the scene, LPD said.

Davis was lodged in the Lancaster County Jail for robbery, terroristic threats and use of a deadly weapon to commit a felony.
