Lincoln North Star navigates its way to victory behind solid ground game

LINCOLN, Neb. (KLKN) – The Lincoln North Star Navigators took down Omaha South on Thursday afternoon in a big way, winning 42-14 at Union Bank Stadium.

The Gators were led by its two-headed monster in the backfield in Jordan Anderson and J.C. Sievers.

Sievers got the Gators going in the first quarter with a short rushing touchdown, and Anderson followed that one up with a rushing touchdown of his own, making the score 14-0 early.

Quarterback Tyrell Chapman showed he could do it with his legs as well, making the score 21-0 on a 36-yard scamper to the end zone.

Sievers capped off a big first half by taking a screen pass 43 yards down the sideline to give the Gators a 35-0 lead at the break.

The Gators put the cherry on top with a 76-yard kick return for a touchdown by Max Kleppinger to open the second half.

Lincoln North Star moves to 2-2 on the season and will host Omaha Westview next week.
