The boosters club set up the stand at Elway Powersports of Lincoln.

All funds raised by the stand will be put back into the softball program, led by coach Tabatha Schilling.

The recent Lincoln Public Schools addition is in need of support and resources for its new sports teams as they try to compete with other Class B schools.

The stand also serves as a great bonding and leadership opportunity for the girls, Schilling said.

“Our group of girls really like being together and doing things, so us getting to come out here and do a little bonding does help in the summer,” she said. “We’re just kind of getting into our practices and things like that, so it’s a really great opportunity for them. we also like that it gets them out in the community.”

The stand is open till 10 p.m. on Monday and from 9 a.m. to 10 p.m. on the Fourth of July.
