Lincoln Northwest Falcons swoop in for first varsity win in program history

LINCOLN, Neb. (KLKN) – Lincoln Northwest earned its first varsity win in program history Friday night at home against Lexington.

The Falcons snatched the win 27-14 over the Minutemen.

In the first quarter, the Falcons’ Steven Frede swooped in for an interception.

And it was No. 26 Frede who made it happen on offense, too.

The senior, on fourth-and-1, carried it in for Northwest’s first touchdown of the game, putting the Falcons up 6-0.

Frede was having a night. He picked up a fumble recovery on the Minutemen’s next possession.

Quarterback Dylan Kotik capitalized, keeping it himself and taking it in for a second Northwest touchdown.

Falcons went for two, and it was good. They led 14-0.

The final score was 27-14.
