Lincoln nurse finds creative way to cope during pandemic
Working in a hospital, Sara has seen first hand the impact the pandemic has had on front line workers.

Stuck at home on the weekends, nurse manager Sara Hennessy has found a unique way to cope with the COVID–19 crisis, through chalk.
Working in a hospital, Sara has seen first hand the impact the pandemic has had on front line workers from day one.
“The mood in the room has changed from out right fear and anxiety to one of community inside and outside the hospitals,” Hennessy said.
Since Nebraska wasn’t one of the first states to see COVID–19 among residents, Sara and her team of nurses had time to plan and prepare for what was to come.
“Even though it wasn’t here, it was hard to watch everyone on the coast struggle to get a grip on it,” Hennessy said.
As so many healthcare workers tread unknown waters, Sara said drawing has been the perfect way to take her mind off of everything.
Through all the ups and downs the pandemic has brought, a message of gratitude for the people around her contributing any way they can.
“Thank you Lincoln for staying home and keeping us safe and giving us time to plan on the front lines. To my neighborhood thank you so much, and to all my mom friends thank you. Stay safe, stay home and stay connected,” Hennessy said with a smile.
