Lincoln Parkview Christian leans on talent and hard work as Patriots eye two-peat
LINCOLN, Neb. (KLKN) – Parkview Christian football is coming off a historic 2022 season, when the Patriots won their first state title in school history.
Now, with the new season approaching, the Patriots feel they have the talent and work ethic to make a run at a repeat in Class D6.
But they acknowledge the path won’t be easy.
“We don’t have some of the good players that we did last year, but we also have some great players stepping up,” senior Alexander Rorhbaugh said. “It’s going to take hard work. Just discipline and consistency.”

Parkview graduated some key players from the championship team, but defensive coordinator Mark Stoley said those seniors helped set the standard that the new senior class is building on.
“Now some of these seniors that were juniors last year have carried the torch,” he said. “I think they’ve done a really good job of bringing everything and everybody along.”
Parkview Christian is focusing on the fundamentals and hoping that consistency can lead to another state title.
“We’re just trying to encourage the younger guys to put in the same work so that we can get to the same place that we were last year so we can win another state championship,” quarterback Judah Sundermann said.

Despite the realization that every school in D6 is out for their title, the Patriots are focused on bettering themselves.
Stoley said the culture is in a good place.
At the end of practice, the players often say, “Family on three!”
“So it’s been a family thing; it’s been a culture thing,” he said.
