Lincoln Pius X defeats Seward in first meeting in over a decade
SEWARD, Neb. (KLKN) — Lincoln Pius X played Seward for the first time in over a decade on Friday.
The game was held at Concordia University’s field in Seward, the same place the Thunderbolts met the Bluejays in 2011.
Seward made a final push, but it wasn’t enough to make up for Pius’ dominant first half, with the Bolts topping the Bluejays 21-14.
During Seward’s first possession, quarterback Kalen Knott dropped back to pass, but Pius’ Cole Skorupa picked it off and went the other way.
That gave the Bolts good field position for the second quarter.
A few plays later, quarterback Kolbe Volkmer handed it off to Matt Bohy for a 2-yard touchdown for Pius X.
It was all Bolts in the first half, as linebacker Ben Andreasen snagged another one from Knott in the second interception of the night.
