Lincoln Police arrest 5 in string of drug busts

Lincoln Police made three separate drug busts Thursday resulting in the arrests of five people.
The first bust, around 5 a.m. Thursday, occurred when officers were dispatched to the Kwik Shop at 4400 Cornhusker Highway on reports of three men “tweaking” in the parking lot.
Officers found 1.1 grams of meth and a glass pipe while searching Danny J. Hansen, 42, who admitted to using the drug, police said.
Hansen was arrested for possession of a controlled substance.
The second bust happened around 9 a.m., when officers patrolling the 2900 block of NW 12th Street ran a license plate on a pick-up truck from California that was reportedly stolen.
Officers reportedly found three glass pipes with marijuana residue and another pipe with meth in it, police said.
Yannidies J. Brown, 27, Crystal M. Araujo, 30, and Jose A. Campos, 32, were arrested on a number of charges including theft and possession of a controlled substance.
Police estimated the truck’s value at $40,000.
LPD said officers served a search warrant at 6830 Vine Street around 7:40 p.m. Thursday, and found multiple baggies of cocaine, 4.1 grams of marijuana, digital scales, pipes, a stolen handgun and a stolen rifle.
Nicolle A. Murry, 39, was arrested for possession of a controlled substance (a felony) and two counts of possession of a stolen firearm (also a felony).
