Lincoln Police Department investigating assault near downtown Lincoln

LINCOLN, Neb. (KLKN) – The Lincoln Police Department is investigating an early morning assault near downtown Lincoln.
At 12:05 a.m. on Saturday, officers were sent to a business near 18th and O streets on the report of a fight with gunshots heard.
When officers arrived, they found a 22-year-old Lincoln man who had been assaulted by multiple people known to him outside the business.
LPD said the fight started inside the business and continued outside after all involved were removed from the building.
Nobody was hit by gunfire, according to the police.
The victim was taken to an area hospital for minor injuries.
