LINCOLN, Neb. (KLKN) – The Lincoln Police Department is launching its anti-impaired driving campaign on Friday.

In a press release, LPD announced that it’s joining the nationwide Drive Sober or Get Pulled Over campaign, which goes until Jan. 1.

Police said officers will conduct additional enforcement on weekends.

The Nebraska Department of Transportation’s Highway Safety Office is funding the officers’ overtime pay.

LPD recommends that people designate a sober driver before going to holiday events.

People can also use a taxi, a shared ride service or a family member to get home safely.
