Lincoln Police hold 31st annual Santa Cop Auction for kids in need

LINCOLN, Neb. (KLKN) – The 31st annual Santa Cop Auction was held Sunday, after going virtual last year.
The silent and live auction took place at the Center For People In Need.
All of the proceeds raised from the event will buy gifts for kids in the Lincoln area, who normally wouldn’t have a Christmas.
The Police Union will start handing out gifts through December to families they see in need.
“It’s great, just to see the kids and get that interaction and building that police relationship with those children. They remember that, when you see them again, they recognize you and say ‘hey I saw you last Christmas.’ It’s a good feeling and a great experience to have,” Ofc. Briana Rumbaugh said.
Items sold in the auction came from donations.
