Lincoln Police host 3rd annual Trunk or Treat event

Lincoln Police Department gave kids the chance to break out their Halloween costumes early as they hosted their 3rd annual Trunk or Treat event.
“We’ve gone from a little garage in our northeast substation, to now, well last year was half of this pavilion and now we have the whole pavilion,” Sargent Jenny Grantz said.
There were a number of unique costumes.
Officers from LPD, UNL and the Sheriffs department got to decorate their cruisers any way they’d like, a few of them even dressing up as well and passing out tons of candy.
“Oh my goodness. We had an in closed trailer full of candy and we also have donations from the community, so we have a lot of people who drop candy off,” Sargent Grantz said.
It also gives officers a chance to meet with kids in the community.
Everyone left with smiles on their faces and buckets full of candy.
