Lincoln Police hosting National Night Out Event Tuesday

The Lincoln Police Department along with other departments across the nation are holding events for National Night Out.

It’s an annual community-building celebration that helps police connect with the community they serve.

Tuesday’s event will take place at American Lutheran Church at 42nd and Vine Street from 6 p.m. until 8 p.m.

All ages are welcome for an evening of food, games and activities.

You’ll also have an opportunity to meet local firefighters as well as police and neighbors.

The Crete Police Department is hosting an event as well.

Their event goes from 5 p.m until 8 p.m in Crete City Park behind City Hall.

They’ll be a bounce house, free hot dogs, fire trucks, an ambulance, the Saline County Sheriff’s Office K-9 Indy, the Nebraska State Patrol’s “Persuader,” and games.

According to officials this will be the 36th Annual National Night Out.

Last year, more than 16,000 communities, in all 50 states took part in the night.

This is the City of Crete’s second year and the first event at City Park.
