Lincoln police identify driver in crash that killed a 62-year-old pedestrian

LINCOLN, Neb. (KLKN) – A Lincoln woman was arrested Saturday following a crash that left one pedestrian dead.

The crash happened at the intersection of Sun Valley Boulevard and West O Street at 11:45 a.m.

Vanesa Nicole Williams, 30, was determined to be the driver of the car, according to police.

Police said Williams was driving west on O Street when she crossed the median and hit a pedestrian that was sitting on the raised center of the median.

The pedestrian was identified as a 62-year-old male, according to officials.

The male victim was transported to the hospital in critical condition, where he later died.

Police said release of the victim’s information will be pending notification of his family.

Williams was determined to be under the influence of drugs, according to police.

She was arrested for felony motor vehicle homicide.

Crash investigators are finished with their investigation, and all lanes of traffic are now open.
